On
Wednesday, Sept 30, Greenville's Thea Kent was in a bad mountain bike accident
at the Charlotte Whitewater Center. She fractured 1 vertebra, broke 7 ribs in
her back (broken at the spinal column), broke 6 transverse process bones,
sustained a punctured lung, and suffered minor head injuries .
The good
news is that there was no nerve or spinal cord damage. The bad news is that she
does not have insurance. This is where we can help...
On Sunday,
November 15 at 10:00, we will host a bike ride from Carolina Triathlon Downtown
for a small $20 donation. We will have 30 and 60 mile ride options. Big George
Hincapie will join us for the longer ride.
A silent auction will also be
held to raise additional money for her. Food and fun after the ride so even if
you cant make the ride, come hang out after!
